Transient Absorption of the Chlorophyll a in Ethanol

open access: yesChinese Journal of Chemical Physics, 2006
The excited state of Chlorophyll a is investigated by femtosecond transient absorption. The transient absorption spectra of Q band and By band of Chlorophyll a in ethanol have been observed. The fast kinetics of Chlorophyll a which exhibit two ultrafast components were also measured.

Ultrahigh sensitive transient absorption spectrometer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2021
Transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy is considered as a powerful technique that reflects the ultrafast dynamics of photogenerated carriers in photoelectric and photocatalysis materials. However, limited by its sensitivity, the photogenerated carrier density in TA measurements of solar energy materials is usually much higher than that in the real ...

Transient absorption in excimer-exposed silica

Applied Optics, 2000
The transient absorption produced in high-purity fused silica by exposure to a 193-nm excimer laser is investigated as a function of exposure, dissolved molecular hydrogen content, and hydrogen-related processing. Long-term recovery of transmittance was found to correlate with the dissolved molecular hydrogen concentration, whereas short-term fade was ...

Transient absorption of polarons in KNbO3

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2002
Abstract Transient absorption spectra have been measured in a number of undoped KNbO 3 crystals following two kinds of electronic excitation: two-photon absorption of 200 fs laser pulses and 10 ns pulsed electron beam. A band peaking at 0.8 eV and broad, poorly resolved absorption in the range 1.3–3.3 eV were observed.

Separation of Distinct Photoexcitation Species in Femtosecond Transient Absorption Microscopy

open access: yesACS Photonics, 2016
Femtosecond transient absorption microscopy is a novel chemical imaging capability with simultaneous high spatial and temporal resolution. Although several powerful data analysis approaches have been developed and successfully applied to separate ...

Transient absorption of symmetrical carbocyanines

Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry, 1998
Abstract Transient absorption in several symmetrical cyanine and carbncyanine dyes is measured by time-resolved spectroscopy with subpicosecond white-light continuum in a wide spectral range (0.35–1 μm). The results are compared with data available in the literature on ultrashort and long-lived transients.

Transient absorption spectroscopy

2022

Ultrafast Transient Absorption of Diazoalkanes

2022
Ultrafast dynamics of three different diazoalkanes (1, 2, 3) was investigated with femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy using third harmonic generated UV pump pulses and broadband white light supercontinuum probe pulses. Diazoalkanes are important reagents in organic synthesis that produce carbenes via photoinduced elimination of nitrogen ...

Transient Absorption Spectroscopy

2011
The concepts at the basis of transient absorption measurements were illustrated with particular reference to nanosecond kinetic spectro-photometry and femtosecond pump and probe methods. The main features of the typical experimental setups for both techniques were illustrated as regards optical parts, geometrical layout of compo-nents and light ...

Transient response in absorptive bistability

Optics Communications, 1983
Abstract Measurements of transient response are described for a system composed of multiple beams of atomic sodium passing through a high-finesse optical cavity. For switching from zero to incident laser intensities above the upper turning point of the steady-state hysteresis cycle, a delay in excess of the empty cavity filling time is observed for ...
