This paper is the first to investigate and measure the transient competitive advantage readiness among hotels, cafes, and fashion retail industry in Bandung, Indonesia. From a total of 60 managers of hotels, cafes, and fashion retails in Bandung, this study found that the transient competitive advantage readiness among three different businesses is ...

A note on the relative advantages of transient and harmonic field methods
Geoexploration, 1976Abstract Transient and harmonic field methods have been compared. A definite advantage of transient methods over harmonic methods in ore prospecting has been shown by taking a conductive sphere as an example.

Successfully Ride Waves of Transient Competitive Advantages
2019This chapter, mainly based on Forrest and Nightingale (2017), establishes a specific set of procedural steps for any firm to transit smoothly and successfully into the era of fast strategic changes while the firm’s once sustainable competitive advantages have become transient. To accomplish this goal, this chapter bases its reasoning on the established

Transient Advantage and the Profit versus Market Share Tradeoff
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2015The present study argues that the tradeoff between short run profits and market share is at the apex of the distinction between strategies of competitive advantage vis-a-vis transient advantage. A method of empirically estimating such a tradeoff is outlined. The major finding is that the strategy of transient advantage predominates only when it enables

Temperature transient analysis in horizontal wells: Application workflow, problems and advantages
Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2012Abstract This article will present a set of analytical equations for the calculation of early-time, sandface temperature for the case of a slightly compressible fluid production. The equations provide the full, transient temperature solution for the flow of low compressible fluids (i.e. liquids and, sometimes, gases) into horizontal wells.

How Sustainable and Transient Competitive Advantages Interact at a Freezing Moment of Time?
2019This paper aims at designing a gametheoretical model without any unrealistic assumptions to study the competition between a company that is operating under an old paradigm that continuously exploits its established competitive advantage, and a modern, agile company that anticipates and adapts to market changes.

The Advantages of Transient Experiments over Steady State Experiments
1985This paper argues that microelectrode studies of epithelial cells, or any other type of cell, should be done in transient states; that is during perturbations from one given steady state. In that way, secondary effects — like Ca2+- and pH-induced permeability changes and volume changes — are avoided, or at least minimized.

Too little, too early: California’s transient advantage in the photovoltaic solar industry
The Journal of Technology Transfer, 2013Throughout its brief history, California has established itself as a national or international leader in key industries—such as aerospace, computing and entertainment—through early mover pre-emption and strong clustering effects. California firms were the initial world leaders in producing photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and dominated the initial ...

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2013
This paper critically investigates the advantages and limitations of the current-transient methods used for the study of the deep levels in GaN-based high-electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), by evaluating how the procedures adopted for measurement and data analysis can influence the results of the investigation.
