Guillain‐Barré Syndrome in Late Pregnancy Following Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection: A Diagnostic Dilemma

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT The diagnosis of Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) relies on evolving clinical features, supported by cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), laboratory investigations, and electrodiagnostic studies. Early investigations may be nondiagnostic and should not delay treatment when progressive neurological deterioration raises clinical suspicion of GBS.

Longitudinal Swallowing and Salivary Changes With CLR 131 and Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 48, Issue 11, Page 3032-3042, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with recurrent head and neck cancer (HNC) often present with severe, persistent dysphagia and xerostomia following prior chemoradiation. Although swallowing impairments and salivary dysfunction have been reported in this population, prior longitudinal studies have not examined changes in salivary composition or how these ...

Transient Hypothyroidism in Premature Infants After Short-term Topical Iodine Exposure: An Avoidable Risk?

open access: yes, 2020

Optimizing Expectations Leads to Enhanced Efficacy of a Mindfulness‐Based Intervention in Individuals With Low‐Baseline Expectations: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Psychology, Volume 82, Issue 11, Page 1809-1821, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Treatment expectations for medical and psychological treatments and positive patient‐provider interactions are critical mechanisms driving the placebo effect and may augment an intervention's effects. However, it remains unclear whether optimizing treatment expectations is beneficial for all individuals.

Genetic Analysis in Children with Transient Thyroid Dysfunction or Subclinical Hypothyroidism Detected on Neonatal Screening

open access: yes, 2009
. About 30 % of children with elevated TSH levels during neonatal screening have a transient form of disorder. On the other hand, it has been reported that subclinical hypothyroidism persists in late childhood in about 30 % of children found to be false ...

Neurodegenerative Diseases: Epidemiology, Risk Factors, Classification, Pathophysiology, Clinical Features, Diagnosis, and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
Neurodegenerative diseases share convergent risk architectures and pathological mechanisms, yet diverge in selective vulnerability, clinical presentation, and therapeutic responsiveness. This review integrates cross‐disease epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment, highlighting the transition from symptomatic care toward biomarker‐guided

Transient congenital hypothyroidism due to thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor blocking antibodies: a case series

open access: yes, 2011
We describe seven infants with transient congenital hypothyroidism (CH) due to maternal thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSH-R) blocking antibodies (TRAb) identified over three decades of newborn screening for CH in Wales, UK that represents a ...

Identification of Risk‐Related Prenatal Medication Exposure Profiles for Childhood Asthma Using the Bayesian Profile Regression: A Cohort Study Using the POMME Cohort

open access: yesPharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Volume 35, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To identify prenatal medication exposure profiles associated with childhood asthma. Methods This population‐based cohort study used data from the POMME (PrescriptiOn Médicaments Mères Enfants) cohort, including 18 851 children born in the Haute‐Garonne area (France) in 2010 and 2015, and followed until 2023.
