A Hybrid Method for Transient Stability Analysis
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1997Abstract Direct method and Time-domain method are two main methods of power system transient stability analysis. They have complementary superiorities and drawbacks . This paper presents a hybrid method for transient stability analysis, which combines the desirable features of the two methods.

Ward-Type Equivalents for Transient Stability Analysis
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992Abstract This paper presents a methodology for a dynamic equivalent that is attached to the internal nodes of the generators. The equivalent results from the elimination of constant PQ load buses while taking into account the changes in the load bus voltage phasors that are driven by the machine angles.

Practical stability analysis for transient system dynamics
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2008The stability of multi-body systems in transient conditions, such as vehicles under braking, is considered. Stability in this case is not univocal, because according to the widely used classical definitions of Lyapunov and Malkin, nearly all motions taking place over a finite time are stable.

Dynamic Ward equivalents for transient stability analysis
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1994In an effort to reduce the computing time of transient stability assessment, the paper presents a dynamic equivalent which results from the elimination of the load buses provided with voltage-dependent loads. The elimination is performed through a new version of the Ward equivalencing method.

Partitioned Transient Analysis Procedures for Coupled-Field Problems: Stability Analysis
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1980A general partitioned transient analysis procedure is proposed, which is amenable to a unified stability analysis technique. The procedure embodies two existing implicit-explicit procedures and one existing implicit-implicit procedure. A new implicit-explicit procedure is discovered, as a special case of the general procedure, that allows degree-by ...

Transient stability analysis of TNGT power system
2014 IEEE 8th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Control (ISCO), 2014The increase in size and complexity of power system networks with a large number of interconnections has exposed the system to various contingencies, which lead to system instability. Therefore, it is necessary for a power system to remain in a state of operating equilibrium under normal operating conditions and to regain an acceptable state of ...

Transient stability analysis of Gadong Power Station
8th International Conference on Advances in Power System Control, Operation and Management (APSCOM 2009), 2009Transient stability analysis is very important to find the behavior of the synchronous machines under faulted condition. In this paper, IPSA simulation software is used to study the transient stability analysis of Gadong Power Station. Three-phase faults are considered at the busbar 1415LPS and 2829GPS1 with different fault clearing times.

A practical method of transient stability analysis of stochastic power systems based on EEAC
International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 2019With the diversification of power systems and the application of power electronic technology, the uncertainty of power systems is becoming more and more serious, and the traditional deterministic transient stability analysis methods encounter severe ...

A Review of Power System Transient Stability Analysis and Assessment
Prognostics and System Health Management Conference, 2019The failure of power system transient stability is one of the main factors causing catastrophic accidents of power systems. Therefore, it is of great significance to evaluate the transient stability of a power system.

Critical Trajectory Method for Transient Stability Analysis
2008 International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering, 2008This paper proposes a method for transient stability analysis for multi-machine electric power systems. Different from existing methods, a minimization problem with boundary values is formulated for obtaining critical conditions for transient stability, where a new numerical integration method is developed by modifying the trapezoidal formula to solve ...
