Voltage stability analysis in transient and mid-term time scales

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1996
This paper reviews the general methodology of analysing voltage stability in the mid-term and in the transient time scale. It shows how a simplified simulation of the mid-term dynamics can only be combined with the analysis of "snapshots" using a linearised model for the transient dynamics.

Detecting transient voltage stability and voltage sag

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2004
This paper presents method to discriminate between transient voltage stability and voltage sag. The discrete wavelet transform (WT) is a powerful tool in the analysis of the transient phenomena in power systems because of its ability to extract information in both the time and frequency domain.

Discrimination between transient voltage stability and voltage sag

10th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.02EX630), 2004
The discrete wavelet transform is a powerful tool in the analysis of the transient phenomena in power systems because of its ability to extract information in both the time and frequency domain. This paper presents a technique for accurate discrimination between transient voltage stability and voltage sag by combining wavelet transforms with neural ...

Study of transient voltage stability with transient stability probing method in hunan power grid

2017 4th International Conference on Systems and Informatics (ICSAI), 2017
The transient voltage stability issue is a well known problem in Hunan power grid, which the simulation shows the three-phase fault occurred at 500kV transmission line in eastern Hunan will cause the voltage collapse hundreds of kilometers away in southern Hunan.

TCSC as a transient voltage stabilizing controller

2001 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37194), 2002
TCSC has been proposed to enhance the voltage stability by changing the reactive power distribution in the power system. The authors have discussed the effect of TCSC on steady state voltage stability and small-signal voltage stability. This paper discusses the TCSC's enhancement on transient voltage stability.

Review on Transient Voltage Stability of Power System

2020 IEEE Sustainable Power and Energy Conference (iSPEC), 2020
In recent years, there have been frequent blackouts caused by voltage instability worldwide, causing huge economic losses. The highly centralized load center at the receiving end needs to feed a lot of energy from the remote power center in China, which makes the transmission capacity of the power grid closer to the transmission limit, and the ...

Discrimination between transient voltage stability and voltage sag using damped sinusoids-based transient modeling

IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2005, 2005
This paper presents a technique for accurate discrimination between transient voltage stability and voltage sag by combining damped sinusoids-based transient modeling with neural networks. Transient modeling is accomplished by energy adapted matching pursuits with an over-complete dictionary of damped sinusoids.

Transient Stability of Low Voltage Micro Grid

2019 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE), 2019
The micro grids (MG) is an essential part of smart grids, since distributed generations based on renewable energy sources are becoming incredibly popular. For low-voltage micro grid, this popularity becomes transparently obvious. In a low-voltage MG islanded mode operation, the type 4 wind turbine generators, connecting to grid through the inverter ...

Transient (Short-Term) Voltage Stability

2021
The dynamic behavior of power system can be summarized and reflected by the nonlinear differential-difference-algebraic equations (DDAE). The differential equations partially reflect the dynamic behavior of dynamic elements in the power system, the difference equations partially reflect the discrete actions of system elements, and the algebraic ...
