A parallel input composite transimpedance amplifier

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2018
A new approach to high performance current to voltage preamplifier design is presented. The design using multiple operational amplifiers (op-amps) has a parasitic capacitance compensation network and a composite amplifier topology for fast, precision, and low noise performance.

Transimpedance Amplifier Design

2007
The photocurrent generated by the photodetector through optoelectronic conversion of the incoming light must be conditioned to comply with the requirements of the clock and data recovery block. The CDR performs retiming and synchronization of the received data stream, but requires the input signal amplitude to be constant and larger than its input ...

Dynamic Damping in Transimpedance Amplifiers

2020 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2020
This paper presents a design technique for optical receivers that adjusts the damping factor of a 2nd-order transimpedance amplifier (TIA) synchronously with the incoming data. This approach allows the fast response of low-damping factor while mitigating the intersymbol interference (ISI) associated with underdamped systems.

InP Single-Ended Transimpedance Amplifier with 92-GHz Transimpedance Bandwidth

2007 IEEE Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Symposium, 2007
A single-ended InP transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for next generation high-bandwidth optical fiber communication systems is presented. The TIA exhibits 48 dB-Omega transimpedance and has a 3-dB bandwidth of 92 GHz. The input-referred current noise is 20 pA/radicHz and the transimpedance group delay is below 10 ps over the entire measured frequency ...

A Stagger-Tuned Transimpedance Amplifier

IEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 2016
A new transimpedance amplifier (TIA) design procedure using stagger tuning with inverted transformer coils is described in this paper. A broadband TIA, realized using the proposed staggered design technique that enhances the transimpedance limit and the bandwidth while only adding small passband gain ripple, was implemented in a 0.13- ${\mu }\text {m}
