Ultra‐low‐noise large‐bandwidth transimpedance amplifier

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2014
SummaryEquivalent input current noise and bandwidth are the most relevant parameters qualifying a low‐noise transimpedance amplifier. In the conventional topology consisting of an operational amplifier in a shunt‐shunt configuration, the equivalent input noise decreases as the feedback resistor (RF), which also sets the gain, increases.

Design of linear transimpedance amplifiers

ASICON 2001. 2001 4th International Conference on ASIC Proceedings (Cat. No.01TH8549), 2002
Current-to-voltage converters are important building blocks in analog-mixed signal processing circuits. In this paper, two very simple circuits of transimpedance amplifier used to realize a linear current-to-voltage conversion are presented. The circuits operation is not based on any charge accumulation process and the implementation of the circuits ...

Cryogenic transimpedance amplifier for micromechanical capacitive sensors

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2008
We developed a cryogenic transimpedance amplifier that works at a broad range of temperatures, from room temperature down to 4 K. The device was realized with a standard complementary metal oxide semiconductor 1.5 μm process. Measurements of current-voltage characteristics, open-loop gain, input referred noise current, and power consumption are ...

A CMOS transimpedance amplifier for optical wireless communications

2013 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems, 2013
A low-cost transimpedance amplifier (TIA) suitable for optical wireless communications is presented. The shunt-feedback TIA is designed using a feedforward current amplifier (CA). The bandwidth of the CA-TIA exhibits low sensitivity to the TIA gain. The optical receiver front-end is validated by both simulation and measurement.

A low noise transimpedance amplifier for optical receiver

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2021
In this paper, a regulated cascode (RGC) structure and a shunt-feedback transimpedance amplifier are cascaded. By analyzing the average input-referred noise current, this paper used the method of adjusting the metal–oxide–semiconductor size and increasing the transimpedance gain to optimize the circuit noise characteristics without introducing ...

Transimpedance Amplifier Graphical Design Technique

2019 IEEE 62nd International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2019
A transimpedance amplifier (TIA) graphical design technique including transimpedance gain, signal bandwidth, feedback loop stability, and noise performance is presented. The proposed graphical method allows for a more extensive design tradeoff analysis and is applicable to both compensated and decompensated opamps.

Gigahertz low noise CMOS transimpedance amplifier

Proceedings of 1997 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Circuits and Systems in the Information Age ISCAS '97, 2002
A new class of low noise CMOS common gate transimpedance amplifier is described. What is novel about the design is the total isolation of the photodiode capacitance from determining the -3 dB bandwidth. HSPICE simulations of this amplifier were conducted using the Tritech 0.6 /spl mu/m CMOS process.

CMOS transimpedance amplifier for DVD applications

ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002
This paper presents a design of wideband transimpedance amplifier applied in optical storage systems. The expansion of amplifier bandwidth is due to the combination of current-voltage and voltage amplifiers, as well as parasitic capacitance compensation.

2.5Gb/s CMOS RGC transimpedance amplifier

2007 Internatonal Conference on Microelectronics, 2007
A novel low noise CMOS regulated cascode (RGC) transimpedance amplifier, which can be used in the front-end of 2.5 Gbit/s optical communication system, is presented. Active inductor peaking technique, active feedback and source follower are used to improve the -3 dB bandwidth.
