An electronic portal imaging device for transit dosimetry

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 1997
An electronic portal imaging device has been designed and constructed. It consists of an array of 128 CsI scintillation crystals coupled to photodiodes which is scanned across the field in 4 seconds. The linac is operated at a dose rate of 400 cGy min-1 and the dose delivered for image acquisition is approximately 27 cGy.

28 Contribution of transit dosimetry (EPID-based) and retrospective dose calculation in the patient’s real anatomy (kV-CBCT-based) for the estimation of the dose delivered to the patient (Preliminary study)

Physica medica (Testo stampato), 2018
Introduction During an external photon radiotherapy treatment, transit dosimetry performed with the electronic portal imaging device (EPID) makes it possible to record a footprint of the irradiation beam passing through the patient to detect any ...

Evaluation of the Accuracy of Dose Delivery for IMRT Based on Transit Dosimetry

Health Physics, 2014
The authors have developed and evaluated a new method that uses transit dose in the treatment room in verification of dose delivery to patients. Five intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) plans were selected from actual cancer patients, and transit dose was measured using MapCHECK 2 and an anthropomorphic phantom.

Transit dosimetry in IMRT with an a-Si EPID in direct detection configuration

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2012
In this study an amorphous silicon electronic portal imaging device (a-Si EPID) converted to direct detection configuration was investigated as a transit dosimeter for intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). After calibration to dose and correction for a background offset signal, the EPID-measured absolute IMRT transit doses for 29 fields were ...

EPID calibration method for transit in-vivo dosimetry

2009
The mostly used in-vivo dosimetry techniques require efforts for their implementation measurements, workload for the detector positioning and for the data analysis. The transit in-vivo dosimetry, performed by the Electronic Portal Imaging Device (EPID), avoids the problem of the detector positioning on the patient.
