Vibrational Transitions and the Intermolecular Potential
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1960Temperature-dependence studies of vibrational collision lifetimes by the authors have indicated that the application of the Schwartz, Slawsky, and Herzfeld theory to substituted methane molecules with heavy surface atoms results in repulsive ranges which are shorter than those expected from a Lennard-Jones 6:12-type interaction.

Transition potentials for (d, p) reactions
Nuclear Physics A, 1969Abstract Finite-range calculations are carried out in the distorted wave Born approximation to obtain the 28 Si(d, p) 29 Si and 90 Zr(d, p) 91 Zr stripping differential cross sections at a number of different bombarding energies. The transition interaction responsible for the A(d, p)B reaction is assumed to be V pn + V pA − V pB rather than ...

Phase transition for Ising frustration potentials
Journal of Statistical Physics, 1980A frustration potential is a sum of interactions the terms of which are not simultaneously minimized even in the ground-state spin configurations. Ising models with such potentials can be discussed by the use of contours. The Peierls condition for the phase transition can be properly generalized, taking into account the presence of zero-energy contours.

Multiphonon transitions between adiabatic potential curves
Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1984Multiphonon transitions are discussed semiclassically using an extension of the configuration-coordinate diagram to a complex plane of the configuration coordinate. The author considers the tunnelling regime, complementary to the region of applicability of the Landau-Zener formula, where the crossing point of the potential curves is classically ...

TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES AS POTENTIAL SEMICONDUCTORS
1963Abstract : Electron transfer reaction mechanisms were studied through the measurement of the electrical properties of the coordination complex tris-(o-phenanthroline) iron (II)-hexachloroiridate and its analogs, as well as the organic ligands dipyridyl and orthophenanthroline. The plots of log C vs.
