In this study, the unique role of the unusual lone‐pair‐π conjugation mechanism in poly(1,4‐anthraquinone) (P14AQ) is explored as an organic electrode material. Unlike traditional π‐π interactions, P14AQ's conjugation involves lone pairs of oxygen atoms interacting with the π cloud of adjacent units, enabling stable charge transport even with minimal π‐

Structural Transitions of Satellite Tobacco Mosaic Virus Particles
Satellite tobacco mosaic virus (STMV) can undergo at least two physical transitions that significantly alter its mechanical and structural characteristics. At high pH the 17-nm STMV particles expand radially by about 5 A to yield particles having diameters of about 18 nm.

PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

Exoplanet Characterization by Multi-Observatory Transit Photometry with TESS and CHEOPS [PDF]
Space-based photometric surveys have discovered large numbers of planets transiting other stars, but these observe in a single band-pass and yield only the planet radius, orbital period, and transit duration.

Protonic ceramic fuel cells offer a promising route to generate power efficiently but face critical challenges in achieving industrially viable activity and stability at their cathodes in CO2‐containing air. This report proposes a new cathode material design strategy to enable the cathode to be both catalytically active and CO2 tolerant through the ...

Hinode Calibration for Precise Image Co-alignment between SOT and XRT (November 2006 -- April 2007)
To understand the physical mechanisms for activity and heating in the solar atmosphere, the magnetic coupling from the photosphere to the corona is an important piece of information from the Hinode observations, and therefore precise positional alignment

This study reveals that higher shell S coordination can effectively modulate the spin state of FeN4 site via long‐range electronic interactions, giving rise to the oriented generation of singlet oxygen from peroxymonosulfate activation. Abstract Precise manipulation of coordination structure of single‐atom sites and establishment of schematic ...

CoRoT pictures transiting exoplanets
The detection and characterization of exoplanets have made huge progresses since the first discoveries in the late nineties. In particular, the independent measurement of the mass and radius of planets, by combining the transit and radial-velociy ...
