Modeling the Orbital Sampling Effect of Extrasolar Moons
The orbital sampling effect (OSE) appears in phase-folded transit light curves of extrasolar planets with moons. Analytical OSE models have hitherto neglected stellar limb darkening and non-zero transit impact parameters and assumed that the moon is on a

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

The Hunt for Exomoons with Kepler (HEK): I. Description of a New Observational Project
Two decades ago, empirical evidence concerning the existence and frequency of planets around stars, other than our own, was absent. Since this time, the detection of extrasolar planets from Jupiter-sized to most recently Earth-sized worlds has blossomed ...

Wetting of Surface Grafted Hydrophilic‐b‐Hydrophobic Block Copolymer Brushes
The wetting properties of surface grafted diblock copolymer brushes are influenced by the thickness of the hydrophilic bottom block and the hydrophobic top block. The surface adapts in presence of water and the contact angles of the bottom block shine through. Abstract The wetting of diblock copolymer brushes by water is studied.

Satellite-Derived Bathymetry Using Multiple Images: The Alaska North Slope Case Study [PDF]
Currently, charting data in much of the U.S. Arctic North Slope is inadequate or nonexistent and most of its areas have not been updated since the early-1950s. Although the charting infrastructure is out of date, ship transportation (such as, fishing and

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.
