Satellite-Derived Bathymetry Using Multiple Images: The Alaska North Slope Case Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Currently, charting data in much of the U.S. Arctic North Slope is inadequate or nonexistent and most of its areas have not been updated since the early-1950s. Although the charting infrastructure is out of date, ship transportation (such as, fishing and

CoRoT pictures transiting exoplanets

open access: yes, 2015
The detection and characterization of exoplanets have made huge progresses since the first discoveries in the late nineties. In particular, the independent measurement of the mass and radius of planets, by combining the transit and radial-velociy ...

Recent Advances in Single‐Atom Catalyst for Solar Energy Conversion: A Comprehensive Review and Future Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the potential of single‐atom catalysts in three key photocatalytic reactions: the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), nitrogen reduction reaction for ammonia synthesis, and carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) for chemical fuels.

Medium‐Entropy Engineering of Magnetism in Layered Antiferromagnet CuxNi2(1‐x)CrxP2S6

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the aliovalent substitution strategy with Cu and Cr replacing Ni in Ni₂P₂S₆ compounds to engineer magnetism. By creating CuxNi2(1‐x)CrxP2S6 medium‐entropy alloys, the research reveals the evolution of distinct magnetic phases, including the creation of weak ferromagnetism in intermediate compositions.

Satellite Ecology: The Dearth of Environment Dependence [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
Using the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) galaxy group catalogue of Yang et al. (2007), we study the average colour and average concentration of satellite galaxies as function of (i) their stellar mass, (ii) their group mass, and (iii) their group-centric radius.

A new analysis of the WASP-3 system: no evidence for an additional companion

open access: yes, 2012
In this work we investigate the problem concerning the presence of additional bodies gravitationally bounded with the WASP-3 system. We present eight new transits of this planet and analyse all the photometric and radial velocity data published so far ...
