Electron Compounds of Transition Elements

Journal of Applied Physics, 1953
The work of many investigators has strongly indicated that sigma phase is characterized by a certain averaged electronic structure. The characteristic was first thought to be the ``electron vacancy'' concentration in the d band, but it is now appreciated that the density of electrons outside the argon shells may also be a valid criterion.

Regularities of formation of ternary intermetallic compounds between two transition elements and one non-transition element

Science in China Series E: Technological Sciences, 2001
The pattern recognition methods and a four-parameter model, based on extended Miedema’s cellular model of alloy phases, are used to study the regularities of formation of ternary compounds between two transition elements (T, T′) and one non-transition element (N) (T-T′-N system).

Superconductivity and magnetism in transition-element-substituted YBa2Cu3O7 compounds

Journal of Applied Physics, 1988
Superconducting properties of YBa2Cu3O7 have been investigated by a systematic substitution of 3d transition elements for 10% of the Cu ions. Early transition elements Ti, V, and Cr affect the superconducting temperature of YBa2Cu3O7 only slightly. Local magnetic moment formation is observed in Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni substituted compounds.

Electronic Topological Transitions in Elemental Metals and Compounds

1998
We present results of our electronic structure calculations and high pressure experimental studies of the angle dispersive X-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity, and thermoelectric power on Zn, Cd, AuIn2 and YNi2B2C. We focus on some of the observed anomalies at high pressures and find that the isostructural electronic topological transitions are ...

Polarography of Organoelement Compounds of Non-transition Elements

Russian Chemical Reviews, 1976
The electrochemical behaviour of many organoelement derivatives containing a non-transition element is described. The mechanism of the electrode processes and the effect of the conditions of electrolysis are reviewed, mainly at a dropping mercury electrode. A list of 156 references is included.

Paramagnetism – part II Compounds of the transition elements

2003
This chapter deals with transition metals. These form an enormous variety of compounds and display a remarkable diversity of magnetic properties. It looks at paramagnetic phases and subtle aspects of paramagnetic behaviour, which provides a rich source of information about electronic structure.
