Scaling Up Molecular Electron Spin Qubits Around a Core‐Shell Quantum Dot

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Making assemblies of molecular nanomagnet (MNM) qubits is an essential step toward scalable quantum devices. Here, SH‐functionalized {Cr7Ni} antiferromagnetic rings with ability as MNM qubits were successfully grafted to the surface of fluorescent CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QD).

Ir Complexes With Mixed‐Valent Bidentate Ligands: From Complex Synthesis to Catalytic Application

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The bidentate ligands Ph2P(E)NHPPh2 (E = S, Se) feature phosphorous atoms in two different oxidation states and provide the potential to tune chemical reactivity through the choice of donor E. The mononuclear complexes [Ir(COD){κ2‐P,E‐Ph2P(E)NPPh2}] (E = S 1a, Se 1b) were prepared from the dimer [IrClCOD]2 (COD = 1,5‐cyclooctadiene) and the ...

Anode Materials Requirements for Potassium Ion Batteries: Challenges and Future Possibilities

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This work identifies a critical scale‐up gap between laboratory battery research and industrial targets, driven by low active‐mass loadings and the omission of full‐cell metrics. We outline concrete strategies to bridge this divide, shifting focus toward high‐loading electrodes (> 3 mg cm−2) to ensure practical commercial viability of potassium ion ...

Facilitating Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Activity in Alkaline Water Electrolysis via Formation of Ni‐Co2P Heterojunction

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Ni‐Co2P synthesized via a co‐sputtering method exhibits enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity. The formation of a heterojunction between Ni and Co2P plays a crucial role in this enhancement. At the Ni‐Co2P junction, water dissociation is significantly promoted, while the Ni sites facilitate efficient hydrogen evolution.
