Cross‐Scale Engineering of Single‐Atom Catalysts from Local Planar Coordination to Spatial Architectures

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This Review presents a cross‐scale framework for single‐atom catalysts, spanning in‐plane and out‐of‐plane coordination; primary coordination, secondary‐sphere interactions, through‐space microenvironments and support interfaces; individual sites and macroscopic architectures; and static design and directed dynamic reconstruction.

Metal‐Organic Framework‐Templated Deconstruction‐Reconstruction Enables One‐Dimensional to Two‐Dimensional Self‐Assembly of Transition Metal Phosphates for High‐Performance Ammonia Sensing

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
One‐dimensional nickel phosphate nanofibres are transformed into two‐dimensional quasi‐nanosheets through a metal‐organic framework‐templated deconstruction‐reconstruction strategy. The hierarchical nanofibre‐assembled architecture provides rich mesoporosity, accessible adsorption sites, and rapid ammonia diffusion, enabling high‐performance QCM ...

Mixed‐Dimensional Epitaxy of Aligned 1D vdW Nanowires on Low‐Symmetry 2D vdW Materials: Sb2X3 on ReX2 (X = S, Se)

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Highly aligned mixed‐dimensional vdW heterostructures are achieved through vdW epitaxy of 1D Sb2X3 (X = S, Se) nanowires on low‐symmetry 2D substrates (e.g. ReX2). Reduced substrate symmetry enables aligned nanowire growth and well‐defined vdW interfaces. Atomic‐scale characterization reveals specific epitaxial relationships and stacking‐fault defects.

Sodium‐Induced Process Window Expansion Enables High‐Performance Solution‐Processed CISSe Thin‐Film Solar Cells for Tandem Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Excess Na treatment in DMF‐based, solution‐processed CuIn(S,Se)2 solar cell fabrication dramatically widens the process window (air‐annealing temperature after spin‐coating), enabling high efficiencies that are otherwise attainable only within a narrow temperature range.
