Multistage Positron Acceleration by an Electron Beam-Driven Strong Terahertz Radiation

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
Laser–plasma accelerators (LPAs) have been demonstrated as one of the candidates for traditional accelerators and have attracted increasing attention due to their compact size, high acceleration gradients, low cost, etc. However, LPAs for positrons still

Transition radiation detectors [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2012
We review the basic features of transition radiation and how they are used for the design of modern Transition Radiation Detectors (TRD). The discussion will include the various realizations of radiators as well as a discussion of the detection media and aspects of detector construction.

Transition radiation in QCD matter [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2006
In ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions a finite size QCD medium is created. In this paper we compute radiative energy loss to zeroth order in opacity by taking into account finite size effects. Transition radiation occurs on the boundary between the finite size medium and the vacuum, and we show that it lowers the difference between medium and ...

The structure and glass transition behavior of PLLA under the influence of gamma radiation [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2010
The influence of gamma radiation on the structure and glass transition behavior of poly-L-lactide (PLLA) has been studied. Since PLLA exposed to high-energy radiation in the presence of air is prone to chain scission reactions and large degradation ...

Optical transition radiation based transverse beam diagnostics for nonrelativistic ion beams

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2022
The usage of optical transition radiation (OTR) for profile monitoring of relativistic electron beams is well known. This paper presents the case for beam diagnostic application of OTR for nonrelativistic ion beams.

Photon avalanche in nanoluminophore obtained by REE silicate evaporation

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2021
A bulk phosphor composition Sr2Y6.8YbEr0.2Si6O26 was synthesized. A nanophosphorus in an amorphous state was obtained from this sample by the method of pulsed electron beam evaporation.

Coherent transition radiation from attosecond electron pulses [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
We show theoretically and by simulations how coherent transition radiation from tilted surfaces can be used for characterization of attosecond free-electron pulses such as used for pump-probe electron microscopy and diffraction.

Longitudinal charge distribution measurement of nonrelativistic ion beams using coherent transition radiation

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2022
Longitudinal charge profile measurements or bunch shape measurements are a challenge for temporally short nonrelativistic bunches. The field profile has a larger longitudinal extent compared to the charge profile for such beams.

Grating transition radiation: A source of quasimonochromatic radiation [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1999
We have observed transition radiation at optical wavelengths, emitted by 3-13-MeV electrons interacting with a diffraction grating. Near the direction of specular reflection we observed broadband radiation with the same properties as optical transition radiation from a flat surface.
