Transition radiation as a source of circularly polarized radiation

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2005
Transition radiation generated by a moving charge after crossing two gratings, one after another, is considered. The gratings are made of parallel metal wires. Gratings planes are parallel to each other and are perpendicular to the charge velocity. Conductors of the first gratings are perpendicular to conductors of the other.

Theory of X-Ray Transition Radiation from Graphene for Transition Radiation Detectors

2017
We present the theory of transition radiation for monolayers in X-ray domain from the first principles and consider the pros and cons of using graphene-monolayer in transition radiation detectors.

Transition radiation and diffraction radiation. Similarities and differences

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1998
Abstract The characteristics of diffraction radiation (DR), i.e. radiation of the charged particle moving near conducting target have been considered for an ultrarelativistic case. The simple expressions for DR fields for the semi-infinite ideal conducting target have been derived.

The transition radiation detector of MACRO

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1997
The measurement of the residual energy spectrum of secondary muons in the TeV region can offer new experimental opportunities in cosmic ray physics. We present a large area transition radiation detector (TRD) of 36 m 2 active area, partially installed since april 1994 on the underground MACRO detector in order to accomplish such a measurement.
