Transition radiation on a dynamic periodic interface [PDF]
We investigate the transition radiation on a periodically deformed interface between two dielectric media. Under the assumption that the dielectric permittivities of the media are close, a formula is derived for the spectral-angular distribution of the radiated energy in the general case of non-static profile function for the separating boundary.

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.

Aspects of Metal Surface Glowing Mechanisms with Intensive Electron Beam Bombardment [PDF]
The paper gives a brief description and analysis of the main physical processes which can have an effect on the glowing nature of metal element surfaces in different electric vacuum devices when they are bombarded by electron beams.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Photon avalanche in nanoluminophore obtained by REE silicate evaporation
A bulk phosphor composition Sr2Y6.8YbEr0.2Si6O26 was synthesized. A nanophosphorus in an amorphous state was obtained from this sample by the method of pulsed electron beam evaporation.

Shaking photons from the vacuum: acceleration radiation from vibrating atoms
Acceleration radiation—or Unruh radiation—the thermal radiation observed by an ever accelerating observer or detector, although having similarities to Hawking radiation, so far has proved extremely challenging to observe experimentally.

Transition to practice: creation of a transitional rotation for radiation oncology [PDF]
Background: Implementation of Competence by Design (CBD) will require residency training programs to develop formalized “Transition to Practice” (TTP) experiences. A multidisciplinary group of Radiation Oncology stakeholders from tertiary care centres in Atlantic Canada were surveyed regarding a proposed TTP rotation.

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

Longitudinal wake of a bunch of suddenly accelerated electrons within the radiation formation zone
The longitudinal wake is considered for a bunch of electrons that are suddenly accelerated to an ultrarelativistic velocity. This wake describes the wake of forward transition radiation, and it approximates the edge-radiation wake of a bunch exiting a ...

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.
