Measuring the quality of transitional care based on elderly patients’ experiences with the partners at care transitions measure: a cross-sectional survey

open access: yesBMC Nursing
Background The quality of transitional care is closely related to the health outcomes of patients, and understanding the status of transitional care for patients is crucial to improving the health outcomes of patients.

The Experience of Transitional Care for Non-Medically Complex Older Adults and Their Family Caregivers

open access: yesGlobal Qualitative Nursing Research, 2017
Transitional care research has mainly focused on the experiences of older adults with complex medical conditions. To date, few publications examine the experience of transitional care for non-medically complex older adults.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Perceptions of transitional care services among patients with percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage and multicentre health professionals: A qualitative study

open access: yesHealth Expectations
Background Patients with percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) need regular drainage tube care after discharge, and transitional care can help solve this problem.

Perceptions and anticipated factors influencing the adoption of early supported discharge through hospital-at-home

open access: yesAnnals of Medicine
Background Hospital-at-home (HaH) is an alternative care model that allows patients to receive quality, individualized care from their homes. This can reduce hospital bed utilization through early supported discharge (ESD) or admission avoidance (AA ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).
