Chain-imprimitive, flag-transitive 2-designs [PDF]
We consider 2-designs which admit a group of automorphisms that is flag-transitive and leaves invariant a chain of nontrivial point-partitions. We build on our recent work on 2-designs which are block-transitive but not necessarily flag-transitive.

Approximate‐Guided Representation Learning in Vision Transformer
ABSTRACT In recent years, the transformer model has demonstrated excellent performance in computer vision (CV) applications. The key lies in its guided representation attention mechanism, which uses dot‐product to depict complex feature relationships, and comprehensively understands the context semantics to obtain feature weights.

Identity‐By‐Descent Mapping Using Multi‐Individual IBD With Genome‐Wide Multiple Testing Adjustment
ABSTRACT We present an identity‐by‐descent mapping approach to test the association between genome‐wide loci and complex traits. Our method evaluates whether levels of genetic similarities at specific genomic locations, captured by local relatedness matrices derived from multi‐individual IBD sharing, are associated with phenotypic variation in complex ...

The Dehn twist coefficient for big and small mapping class groups
Abstract We study a quasimorphism, which we call the Dehn twist coefficient (DTC), from the mapping class group of a surface (with a chosen compact boundary component) that generalizes the well‐studied fractional Dehn twist coefficient (FDTC) to surfaces of infinite type. Indeed, for surfaces of finite type, the DTC coincides with the FDTC.

Groups with triangle‐free graphs on p$p$‐regular classes
Abstract Let p$p$ be a prime. In this paper, we classify the p$p$‐structure of those finite p$p$‐separable groups such that, given any three non‐central conjugacy classes of p$p$‐regular elements, two of them necessarily have coprime lengths.

Parabolic subgroups in characteristics 2 and 3
Abstract This text brings to an end the classification of non‐reduced parabolic subgroups in positive characteristic, especially 2 and 3: they are all obtained as intersections of parabolics having maximal reduced part. We prove this result and deduce a few geometric consequences on rational projective homogeneous varieties.

Topological coordination numbers and coordination reciprocity from electron‐density distributions
An approach is presented to calculate topological coordination numbers (tCNs) obeying the principle of coordination reciprocity from solid angles subtended by the interatomic surfaces of electron density (QTAIM) atomic domains. The tCN approach characterizes a compound's coordination situation as a set of sub‐coordination scenarios with associated ...

Local character expansions and asymptotic cones over finite fields
Abstract We generalise Gelfand–Graev characters to R/Z$\mathbb {R}/\mathbb {Z}$‐graded Lie algebras and lift them to produce new test functions to probe the local character expansion in positive depth. We show that these test functions are well adapted to compute the leading terms of the local character expansion and relate their determination to the ...
