Existential Calculi of Relations with Transitive Closure: Complexity and Edge Saturations [PDF]
We study the decidability and complexity of equational theories of the existential calculus of relations with transitive closure (ECoR*) and its fragments, where ECoR* is the positive calculus of relations with transitive closure extended with complements of term variables and constants.

Subrings which are closed with respect to taking the inverse
Let S be a subring of the ring R. We investigate the question of whether S intersected by U(R) is equal to U(S) holds for the units. In many situations our answer is positive.

Coherent control of ac Stark allowed transition in $Λ$ system [PDF]
We show that quantum-interference-related phenomena, such as electromagnetically induced transparency, gain without inversion and enhanced refractive index may occur on electric-dipole forbidden transitions. Gain/dispersion characteristics of such transitions strongly depend upon the relative phase between the driving and probe fields.

Enumeration of vacuously transitive relations
AbstractThe concept of vacuously transitive relation is defined and under an appropriate isomorphism, the equivalence classes of such relations are enumerated by use of the power group enumeration theorem [3]. This enumeration is shown to be combinatorially equivalent to a counting series derived by Harary and Prins [4] for certain kinds of bicolored ...

Groups with triangle‐free graphs on p$p$‐regular classes
Abstract Let p$p$ be a prime. In this paper, we classify the p$p$‐structure of those finite p$p$‐separable groups such that, given any three non‐central conjugacy classes of p$p$‐regular elements, two of them necessarily have coprime lengths.

The Chaotic Properties of Increasing Gap Shifts
It is well known that locally everywhere onto, totally transitive, and topologically mixing are equivalent on shift of finite type. It turns out that this relation does not hold true on shift of infinite type.

A relation between entropy and transitivity of Anosov diffeomorphisms [PDF]
It is known that transitive Anosov diffeomorphisms have a unique measure of maximal entropy (MME). Here we discuss the converse question. Under suitable hypothesis on Lyapunov exponents on the set of periodic points and the structure of the MME we get transitivity of $C^1-$Anosov diffeomorphisms.

Rationalizability of Choice Functions on General Domains without Full Transitivity [PDF]
The rationalizability of a choice function by means of a transitive relation has been analyzed thoroughly in the literature. However, not much seems to be known when transitivity is weakened to quasi-transitivity or acyclicity.

The Ran-Reurings fixed point theorem without partial order: a simple proof
The purpose of this note is to generalize the celebrated Ran and Reurings fixed point theorem to the setting of a space with a binary relation that is only transitive (and not necessarily a partial order) and a relation-complete metric.
