Escaping the Scaling Relationships in Oxygen Reduction Catalysis: Implications for PEM Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 52, 16 September 2026.
Escaping the scaling relationships of the oxygen reduction reaction is vital for hydrogen fuel cells. This outlook examines how interfacial heterogeneity, spanning the subsurface lattice, chemisorption layer, and near‐interface solvation volume, mechanistically decouples intermediate binding energetics.

Photodoping in Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells With MXenes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 33, 4 September 2026.
Ultrafast tandem spectroscopy and DFT modeling reveal the separate dynamics and the imbalance of electrons and holes in wide bandgap perovskite solar cells with MXene incorporation. The enhanced photoconversion performances of the devices are traced to photodoping, with selective hole trapping and suppressed recombination of electrons.

Inter‐Material Transfer Learning for Accelerated Nanofluid Heat Transfer Prediction: A Machine Learning Approach for Energy Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 9, Page 4316-4332, September 2026.
This study presents an inter‐material transfer learning framework for nanofluid heat transfer prediction in energy systems. By leveraging knowledge from Al2O3‐water data, the model accurately predicts hybrid Al2O3‐TiO2 nanofluid performance with only 20 simulations, achieving R2 = 0.985 and reducing computational requirements by 78. On finite elation generalized quadrangles with symmetries

open access: yes, 1996
We study the structure of finite groups G which act as elation groups on finite generalized quadrangles and contain a full group of symmetries about some line through the base point.
