Gibbs Ensembles of Nonintersecting Paths [PDF]
We consider a family of determinantal random point processes on the two-dimensional lattice and prove that members of our family can be interpreted as a kind of Gibbs ensembles of nonintersecting paths.

Monochromatic Translates of Configurations in the Plane
It is shown that every admissible red-blue coloring of the Euclidean plane, i.e.~every red-blue coloring for which no two blue points are distance 1 apart, has a red translate of every three point configuration. On the other hand, a seven-point configuration and an admissible red-blue coloring of the plane are specified so that the seven-point ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Translation planes of dimension two and characteristic two
This article discusses translation planes of dimension two and characteristic two. Let G be a subgroup of the linear translation complement of such a plane π. The nature of G and its possible action on π are investigated.

We study a problem about the number of lattice plane tilings by the given area centrosymmetrical polyominoes. A polyomino is a connected plane geomatric figure formed by joiining a finite number of unit squares edge to edge.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

On collineation groups of translation planes of order q4
Let P be an affine translation plane of order q4 admitting a nonsolvable group G in its translation complement. If G fixes more than q+1 slopes, the structure of G is determined.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Translation planes of even order in which the dimension has only one odd factor
Let G be an irreducible subgroup of the linear translation complement of a finite translation plane of order qd where q is a power of 2. GF(q) is in the kernel and d=2sr where r is an odd prime. A prime factor of |G| must divide (qd+1)∏i=1d(qi−1).
