Translation as Collaboration: Virginia Woolf, Katherine Mansfield and S.S. Koteliansky, by Claire Davison [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Claire Davison’s magisterial new book turns the spotlight on the co-translations with S.S. Koteliansky of Virginia Woolf and Katherine Mansfield. Five chapters interrogate their individual conceptions of translation: their translating voices used as a ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Modulation in Translation Process

open access: yesEthical Lingua: Journal of Language Teaching and Literature, 2017
Many aspects have to be observed by translators in order to make a good and equivalent translation. One of these is meaning, because it is the main goal translators must reach in their translation activity.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Jakobson and the mental phases of translation

open access: yesMutatis Mutandis, 2009
Roman Jakobson has written extensively about translation. His contributions can be found in many different papers. Some of his papers don't deal explicitly with translation, but can be interesting in that perspective, too.
