Two Step Estimation Method for Translog Cost Function : An Application to Spanish Airport Network
International journal of transport economicsThis article reports on the use of a two-step estimation method to analyze the productive structure of the airport industry in Spain. The author used the dual cost function and translog joint cost function to complete the estimation method. The author derives some parameters from the translog function such as economies of scale and price elasticities ...

Choice of the Empirical Definition of Zero in the Translog Multiproduct Cost Functional Form
2005This study examines the impacts of empirical definition of zero output values on price elasticities, economy of scope, and scale using the Translog cost function. A system of cost and factor share equations with regularity conditions imposed is estimated. Results show that the choice of default values affects policy recommendations.

Rising Wage Inequality in India: a Translog Cost Function Analysis
2011The paper attempts to investigate the various determinants of rising wage inequality in India since 1980s. A translog cost function along with the share equations is used to evaluate the impact of various factors such as trade, technology, liberalization phase, efficiency (technical, allocative and cost) and inflation on rising wage inequality between ...

A translog cost function of the integrator business : a comparison between FedEx and UPS
2012Abstract: This paper intends to deeply analyse the cost structure of the integrated air freight business by means of a flexible functional form, namely the translog cost function. This analysis allows us to extend our knowledge on the supply side of the integrated air freight industry and the industrial economic relationships within the industry.

IMPORT DEMAND FOR THE UNITED STATES: A TRANSLOG COST FUNCTION ANALYSIS
This paper examines the role of imports as an alternative input to domestically supplied capital and labor in the U. S. economy for the period 1970-1993. We use the aggregate translog cost function, which permits us to obtain econometric measures of the pair-wise elasticities of substitution between inputs for each year, the annual own- and cross-priceopenaire +1 more source
