Investigation of Japanese electricity industry using a CGE model of translog function [PDF]
CGE models are usually used for policy analysis. The conventional CGE models use CES function because of being a convenience for modeling. Moreover, some of the CGE models use a multi-CES function to model the multi-layered production process.

Substitution and price elasticity estimates using inter-countrypooled data in a translog cost model [PDF]
Pooled data across several developing countries and the U.S. were used to estimate long-run substitution and price elasticities ina translog framework for the paper, iron and steel, and aggregatemanufacturing industries. While the quality of the estimates variesacross the several industry-specific models, the results suggest highervalues for these ...

Handling losses in translog profit models [PDF]
In this paper, we compare standard approaches used to handle losses in logarithmic profit models with a simple novel approach. We estimate translog stochastic profit frontiers, and discuss discriminatory power, rank stability and the precision of profit efficiency scores. Contrary to existing methods, our approach does not result in a loss of observations.
