Ambient‐Light‐Activated Rewritable Optical Patterning in Transparent Long‐Afterglow Garnet Ceramics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates sunlight‐activated rewritable optical information storage in transparent long‐afterglow Y3Al2Ga3O12:Ce (YAGG:Ce) garnet ceramics fabricated via solid‐state sintering with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a sintering aid. By integrating ambient‐light operability, reversibility, and high optical clarity in a robust ceramic host ...

Bio‐Derived Nanophotonic Hybrids Enabling Reconfigurable Upconversion for Multilevel Optical Encryption

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A dual‐gated nanophotonic platform integrates lanthanide‐doped upconversion nanoparticles with a stimuli‐responsive silk–zirconia photonic crystal to enable multilevel optical encryption. Resonant photonic coupling allows hydration‐dependent modulation of visible emission under near‐infrared excitation, achieving reversible switching between decoy and ...

Effect of Case Variation on Mastoidectomy Training Using 3D‐Printed Temporal Bones Models—A Prospective, Randomized Trial

open access: yesOtolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To investigate effects of repeated training with anatomically varied versus identical 3D‐printed models on skill acquisition, cognitive load, and skill retention in novice mastoidectomy trainees. Study Design A prospective, randomized, controlled, educational trial conducted April to September 2024 including a 3‐month retention test.

Vacuum Infusion as a Processing Route for Transparent Wood Laminates

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the fabrication route for transparent wood laminates, including wood veneer delignification, epoxy resin impregnation by vacuum infusion processing, and the final TW‐1 transparent wood laminate. ABSTRACT Transparent wood (TW) has attracted increasing attention as a bio‐based material for daylighting and building‐envelope ...

Nonwoven rCF/PA6 Thermoplastic Composites: Hybrid Commingled Fibers vs. Powder Impregnation—Effects on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Comparison of powder impregnation and hybrid commingled non‐wovens for PA6/rCF nonwoven composites. The two‐step powder route gives lower voids and higher properties, while the single‐step hybrid route is limited by precursor inhomogeneity and high void content.
