On the transparency of nanostructured alumina: Rayleigh-Gans model for anisotropic spheres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
14 páginas, 6 figuras, 2 tablas.A light scattering model under the Rayleigh-Gans-Debye approximation has been developed for polycristalline alumina. The model states that transmittance of dense alumina ceramics basically depends not only on the maximum ...

Chemical durability of high translucent dental zirconia

open access: yesDental Materials Journal, 2020
This review describes low temperature degradation (LTD), discoloration, and erosion of high translucent dental zirconia and discusses its chemical durability in comparison with other CAD/CAM materials. The LTD of zirconia strongly depended on the firing temperature, yttria content, surface treatment, and heat treatment.

The Effect of Crown Height and Retentive Height of Abutment on the Fracture Resistance of Fatigued Monolithic Zirconia Anterior Implant Crowns—An In Vitro Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This laboratory study investigated the effect of two different retentive heights of Ti‐base abutments (3.5 and 5.5 mm) and crown heights (13 and 16 mm) on the load at failure and survival of monolithic zirconia implant‐supported crowns replacing a maxillary central incisor.

Evaluation of physical, chemical, and color‐matching properties of monochromatic resin composites: An in vitro study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Oral Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract The objectives of this study are to evaluate, in vitro, the microhardness, sorption, solubility, color stability, and color‐matching ability of monochromatic resin composites: Palfique Omnichroma / Tokuyama (Mono1) and Vittra APS Unique / FGM (Mono2) compared with the conventional resin composite: Filtek Z250 XT / Solventum (Conv).
