SUBNANOSECOND POWER CONDITIONING TECHNIQUE USING TRANSMISSION LINE TO TRANSMISSION LINE CHARGING

Twentieth Conference Record on Power Modulator Symposium, 2005
High pressure over volted gas switches operating from 200 to 350 atmospheres are capable of switching speeds on the order of a few picoseconds [l]. The successful operation of such switches depends upon the application of voltage to the switch within a time duration of a few nanoseconds. This rapid application of voltage is required to achieve the over

Titchmarsh–Weyl Theory for Dirac Systems with Transmission Conditions

Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics, 2018
This article is concerned with the first order system \[ Jy' + By= \lambda y \] on \((a,c)\cup(c,\infty)\) with a transmission condition \[ y(c+) = C y(c-) \] at the point \(c>a\), where \[ J = \begin{pmatrix} 0 & -1 \\ 1 & 0 \end{pmatrix}, \qquad B = \begin{pmatrix} p & 0 \\ 0 & r \end{pmatrix}, \] \(p\), \(r\) are real-valued and locally integrable ...

Compatible HDTV transmission using conditional entropy coding

IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 1993
The authors thoroughly investigate the performance of multistage scalar quantization and investigate three encoding strategies: concatenated coding, conditional entropy coding, and conditional uniform quantization. It is shown that the coding performance of a multistage quantized subband is inferior to that of direct (i.e., single stage) quantization ...

Frequency Dependent Transmission Line Modeling Utilizing Transposed Conditions

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002
Existing phase domain transmission line models are capable of producing highly accurate results for both overhead lines and underground cables. This paper introduces a hybrid line model which gives substantial savings in computation time without loss of accuracy, when one or more circuits of a transmission system are treated as continuously transposed.
