Control Strategy in Movements with Transmission Delay
The strategy used by participants was studied when making movements in a Fitts movement paradigm with transmission delay between control input and display output. Fitts' law in the modified form developed by E. R. Hoffmann (1992) gave an excellent description of the data.

Effect of delay in diagnosis on transmission of COVID-19
The outbreak of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in Wuhan and other cities of China is a growing global concern. Delay in diagnosis and limited hospital resources lead to a rapid spread of COVID-19. In this study, we investigate the effect of delay in diagnosis on the disease transmission with a new formulated dynamic model.

Effects of Transmission Delay on Client Participation in Video-Mediated Group Health Counseling. [PDF]
In face-to-face group counseling, active client participation contributes to the counseling agenda by a variety of social processes, but little is known about how video mediation shapes client participation.

Anesthetic action on the transmission delay between cortex and thalamus explains the beta-buzz observed under propofol anesthesia. [PDF]
In recent years, more and more surgeries under general anesthesia have been performed with the assistance of electroencephalogram (EEG) monitors. An increase in anesthetic concentration leads to characteristic changes in the power spectra of the EEG ...

Node Depth Adjustment Based Target Tracking in Sparse Underwater Sensor Networks
Due to the limited energy in underwater sensor networks, underwater nodes need to be deployed sparsely. However, sparse USNs will lead to poor tracking coverage and detection capability.

Neural field models with transmission delays and diffusion [PDF]
AbstractA neural field models the large scale behaviour of large groups of neurons. We extend previous results for these models by including a diffusion term into the neural field, which models direct, electrical connections. We extend known and prove new sun-star calculus results for delay equations to be able to include diffusion and explicitly ...

Summary In this contribution, we propose a detailed study of interpolation‐based data‐driven methods that are of relevance in the model reduction and also in the systems and control communities. The data are given by samples of the transfer function of the underlying (unknown) model, that is, we analyze frequency‐response data.

Early Transmission Dynamics in Wuhan, China, of Novel Coronavirus–Infected Pneumonia
Background The initial cases of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)–infected pneumonia (NCIP) occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, in December 2019 and January 2020. We analyzed data on the first 425 confirmed cases in Wuhan to determine the epidemiologic
