Fitts' Law with transmission delay
Ergonomics, 1992It is shown that a modified form of Fitts’ Law applies when there is a transmission delay between control movements and feedback of system response to the operator. The model predicts, and experiments verify, that a multiplicative relationship holds between movement time, Index of Difficulty (ID), and transmission delay. Movement time at constant ID is

Transmission delays in hardware clock synchronization
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1988Various methods, both with software and hardware, have been proposed to synchronize a set of physical clocks in the system. Software methods are very flexible and economical but suffer an excessive time overhead, whereas hardware methods require no time overhead but are unable to handle transmission delays in clock signals.

Remote Manipulative Control with Transmission Delay
IEEE Transactions on Human Factors in Electronics, 1963The nature of remote manipulation is briefly discussed and several manipulator devices are described. The problem of manipulation with delay is considered, and an experiment to determine the effect of delay on completion time for a simple manipulative task is reported.

Delaying Inter Vivos Transmissions Under Asymmetric Information
Southern Economic Journal, 1998This paper develops a model of bequeathing based on a moral hazard type of argument. This model explains why altruistic parents prefer late bequests to early inter‐vivos gifts; it also analyzes whether or not they ought to leave rather equal bequests to their children even when the children end up with quite different incomes.

Transmission delay performance in telemedicine: A case study
2017 39th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2017Given the prevalence of chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, epilepsy, and cardiovascular diseases, telemedicine technologies are increasingly adopted to help patients better manage their care and treat these diseases at home. These emerging telemedicine systems have been deployed and tested in a number of different health programs and

Transmission delay analysis in heavy delayed digital systems
1996This paper presents a new control model, ideal for teleoperation, which takes into account the problems arising with heavily delayed communicating systems. This is done with the help of a general purpose neural network and a specific dedicated training structure which is able to train the network and to minimize the network errors due to convergence ...

Network consensus under distributed transmission delays
2014 European Control Conference (ECC), 2014We study the linear consensus problem in weighted and directed networks under signal transmission delays. In contrast to signal processing delays, the average of the initial conditions is not an invariant of the dynamics. Consequently, the consensus value depends on the delay distribution.

Interhemispheric transmission delays in human strabismics.
Human neurobiology, 1986Experimentally induced strabismus in cats and monkeys leads to a variety of anatomical, physiological, and perceptual deficits. Given the similarities between the perceptual deficits of human strabismics and those of animal models, it is reasonable to suggest similarities in the underlying anatomical and physiological deficits.
