Remote Manipulative Control with Transmission Delay
IEEE Transactions on Human Factors in Electronics, 1963The nature of remote manipulation is briefly discussed and several manipulator devices are described. The problem of manipulation with delay is considered, and an experiment to determine the effect of delay on completion time for a simple manipulative task is reported.

Delay in light transmission through small apertures
Optics Letters, 2001We demonstrate a technique for measuring pulse propagation time delays with 0.5-fs resolution by use of a widely available 100-fs pulsed laser. Using this technique, we measured the time delay of a light pulse transiting through subwavelength apertures placed on a 0.3-mum metallic film.

Transmission delay performance in telemedicine: A case study
2017 39th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2017Given the prevalence of chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, epilepsy, and cardiovascular diseases, telemedicine technologies are increasingly adopted to help patients better manage their care and treat these diseases at home. These emerging telemedicine systems have been deployed and tested in a number of different health programs and

The effect of delay distortion on data transmission
Electrical Engineering, 1960DATA TRANSMISSION can generally use with economy portions of the extensive common-carrier plant set up for telephony. However, this plant has been largely equalized for amplitude response and not for phase, because of the insensitivity of the ear to phase distortion.

Triple Loop Networks with Minimal Transmission Delay
International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 1997A multiloop network is a Cayley digraph of the additive group ℤm of integers modulo m generated by a set A of k ≥ 2 "steps". Because of their application to the computer network design, multiloop networks have been studied extensively. Given an integer d ≥ 2 and a real number r > 1, let m(d,3) be the maximum size of a triple loop network with ...

Impact of transmission delay on ISDN videotelephony
Proceedings of GLOBECOM '93. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2002In this paper, the design and results of an experimental study are presented which was conducted in order to assess subjectively the impact of transmission delay on ISDN videotelephony. This study was undertaken using two 64-kbit/s videotelephones which were connected over links incorporating simulated one-way circuit propagation delays of 0 ms, 250 ms,

Reliable circulant networks with minimum transmission delay
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, 1985It is well known that maximum connectivity graphs play an important role in the design of reliable networks. The class of symmetric graphs called circulants is known to contain such maximum connectivity graphs. Although not all circulants have this maximum connectivity property, those that do have a great variation in their diameters. Since diameter is

The Influence of PROFIBUS Frame Transmission Time on Transmission Delay Property
2009 International Conference on Networking and Digital Society, 2009The transmission time delay property of fieldbus is an important factor that influences the real time property of industrial control networks. The frame transmission time of message is one important part of fieldbus transmission time delay, based on the fieldbus transmission time delay model.
