Congestion Control and Packet Scheduling for Multipath Real Time Video Streaming
Real time video traffic has stringent delay requirement and is bandwidth demanding when streaming over the internet. Single path transmission may provide unsatisfactory picture quality to users due to packet loss, jitter, and low bandwidth.

Vehicle-to-vehicle cooperative driving model considering end-to-end delay of communication network
To explore the mechanism of the end-to-end transmission delay of the communication network on the collaborative driving process for traffic flow in the vehicle-to-vehicle communication environment, based on the idea of the car-following model, this paper

This study presents a 3D representative volume element‐based simulation approach to predict mesoscopic residual stress and strain fields in silicon solid solution‐strengthened ductile cast iron. By modeling phase transformation kinetics with an enhanced Johnson–Mehl–Avrami–Kolmogorov model, the effects of varying cooling rates on residual stresses are ...

Stable Throughput and Delay Analysis of a Random Access Network With Queue-Aware Transmission
In this work we consider a two-user and a three-user slotted ALOHA network with multi-packet reception (MPR) capabilities. The nodes can adapt their transmission probabilities and their transmission parameters based on the status of the other nodes. Each

Advancing Wildfire‐Retardant Materials: Engineering Strategies for Direct and Indirect Suppression
Here, the evolution, ecological impact, and performance of current fire‐retardant materials and suppression strategies are reviewed, offering an engineering perspective to address existing challenges and propose pathways for the development of more effective, scalable, and sustainable solutions to meet the demands of a changing climate. Wildfires cause

This work reveals the phase composition and quantitative morphology analysis of precipitation‐hardened Fe32Cu12Ni11Ti16Al29 complex‐concentrated alloy. The precipitates are shown to have a high coherency. Morphology transition between sphere, cuboidal, and elongated morphology is observed. Finally, the overaging behavior is captured using microhardness.

Delay guarantee versus throughput in broadcast fading channels [PDF]
We consider a single-antenna broadcast fading channel with n backlogged users. Assuming the transmission is packet-based, we define the delay as the minimum number of channel uses that guarantees all n users successfully receive m packets.

Delayed transmission of a parasite is compensated by accelerated growth
Compensatory or ‘catch-up’ growth following prolonged periods of food shortages is known to exist in many free-living animals. It is generally assumed that growth rates under normal circumstances are below maximum because elevated rates of growth are costly.
