Thermally Robust Spin–Orbit Torque Switching in Low‐Resistivity Mo‐Alloyed β‐W Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mo‐alloyed β‐W heterostructures exhibit enhanced spin‐orbit torque efficiency, reduced resistivity and switching current density, and reliable operation from −50 to +150°C. The optimized W87.3Mo12.7 device achieves high spin Hall conductivity with thermal robustness, highlighting its potential for energy‐efficient magnetic memory and automotive ...

A Protocol for Efficient Transmissions in UASNs

2013 IEEE 33rd International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems Workshops, 2013
This paper proposes a MAC protocol for enhancing the throughput in underwater acoustic sensor networks. Since the transmission speed of acoustic wave is much slower than that of radio, the propagation delay in the water is much longer. For solving the long propagation delay and hidden terminal problems, the throughput may become very low.

On energy efficiency of relay transmissions

International Symposium onInformation Theory, 2004. ISIT 2004. Proceedings., 2004
Relay links are expected to play a critical role in the design of wireless networks. In this paper, we investigate the energy efficiency of relay communications under two different scenarios: when the relay has unlimited and when it has limited power supply. Relative merits of these relay schemes in comparison with direct transmissions are discussed.

Burst Transmission in Energy Efficient Ethernet

IEEE Internet Computing, 2010
The proposed Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard reduces energy consumption by defining two operation modes for transmitters and receivers: active and low power. Burst transmission can provide additional energy savings when EEE is used. Collecting data frames into large-sized data bursts for back-to-back transmission maximizes the time an EEE ...

Transmission and the Determinants of Transmission Efficiency

2014
Bacteria within the order Rickettsiales would have little impact on human and veterinary medicine in the absence of the arthropod vector. Interestingly, the influence of primary infections with one Rickettsia sp. can influence the success of transovarial transmission of a second.

Energy efficient transmission techniques for LTE

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2013
The goal of the European ICT Project EARTH is to enhance energy efficiency of current LTE cellular networks by 50 percent, enabling operators to provide more extensive coverage, namely to less densely populated areas, while ensuring high levels of efficiency, hence, reducing the carbon footprint. In order to achieve this objective, different strategies,

Energy-efficient compressed address transmission

18th International Conference on VLSI Design held jointly with 4th International Conference on Embedded Systems Design, 2005
To realize energy-efficient buses in current nanometer-scale technologies, techniques like compression or encoding that exploit information redundancy have been explored. However, available compression techniques for buses do not always ensure energy-efficient transmission of compressed information.
