Error concealment for 3D video transmission

2013 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2013
In this paper, an error concealment method for transmission of 3D video in color+depth dual stream format is proposed. Exploiting the correlation between 2D color video and its corresponding depth information, recovery of the lost information of one kind (color/depth) can be achieved with the aid of received information from the other kind (depth/color)

Enhanced image transmission with error control

2011 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical and Computer Technology, 2011
Contrast enhancement of an image can efficiently performed by Histogram Equalization. However, this method tends to introduce unnecessary visual deterioration such as saturation effect. One of the solutions to overcome this weakness is by preserving the mean brightness of the input image inside the output image.

Detecting CD error or transmission error of photomask patterns

SPIE Proceedings, 1998
Whereas critical-dimension (CD) error below 35 nm and transmission error below 3.6 % are required for 256M DRAM, a present-day cutting-edge inspection system may fail to detect 150 nm CD error or 6 % transmission error. Improvement of defect inspection is, therefore, necessary to raise yields of semiconductor devices.

Temporal error concealment for video transmission

2004 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME) (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8763), 2005
In this paper, we propose a temporal error concealment algorithm for video transmission in an error-prone environment. The error concealment algorithm employed an edge detection algorithm and progressive median motion vector concealment. First, the edges are detected and concealed portion by portion.

Data transmission and error correcting codes

ICASSP '82. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
Data transmission simulation, protected by error correcting code, through noisy channel, is one of A.A.E.C.C. principal research axis. We present two parts of an application of our works ; befor that, we present some recalls of error correcting codes 'theory. a) The hardware part. Automaton DOLVRON-1, completely elaborated in A.A.E.C.C.

Error Resilience for AVS Video Transmission

2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2010
AVS is Chinese standard with independent intellectual property rights for the second-generation source coding. In this paper, we give an overview of AVS and stream structure. Then we analyze the influence of bit error in various group fields and classify those fields by effects on the quality of the video sequence.

A Note on PCM Transmission Error

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1970
PCM system transmission error causes error in the subsequent reconstruction of a quantized analog signal. A concise proof is given for bounds on this error (either mean square or mean absolute value). This proof requires no assumptions regarding source distribution or number of quantization levels.

Error Transmission in Mixture Experiments

2004
In this paper we propose explicit models of mean and variance of a mixture performance characteristic for the case when the mixture amounts are set with errors in the production process. They are based on Taylor expansion up to third order terms of a mixture model expressed through the component amounts.

The Derivation of Gear Transmission Error from Pitch Error Records

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Mechanical Engineering Science, 1985
The effect of pitch errors on the transmission error of a gear pair has been much studied. In particular, it has been thought that, if pitch error alone is present, the frequency spectrum of the corresponding transmission error will have no components either at the tooth contact frequency or any of its harmonics. This result is here examined, and it is

Creativity: relation to neural transmission errors

Kybernetes, 2011
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to compare creativity and psychometric IQ and to explain why creativity is often related to mental disturbances.Design/methodology/approachThe approach taken is that of theoretical analysis.FindingsPsychometric IQ is found to be related to low probability of neural transmission errors.
