Error recovery in JPEG2000 image transmission

2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002
In this paper, the problem of bit-errors recovery in JPEG2000 images transmission is addressed, with particular attention to errors in the high-frequency components. In the HL and LH sub-bands, differently from the LL band, interpolation based recovering results tend to be often ineffective when more than a few adjacent wavelet coefficients are missing.

Encoder error analysis in gear transmission error measurement

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1998
This paper investigates encoder measurement error and introduces a method of reducing or cancelling the encoder error from gear transmission error signals. The time domain and frequency domain analysis of the combined encoder error signals has been carried out to show the validity of the method.

Planet position errors in planetary transmission: Effect on load sharing and transmission error

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering, 2013
In this paper an advanced model of spur gear transmissions developed by the authors is used to study the influence of carrier planet pin hole position errors on the behaviour of the transmission. The model, initially conceived for external gear modeling, has been extended with internal meshing features, and thus increasing its capabilities to include ...

Gear Dynamic Transmission Error Testing

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
A measuring device for gear dynamic transmission error test is developed based on NI Labview software, and a new type eccentric bushing structure that can simulate a variety of installation errors is presented. The hardware and software design of the gear dynamic transmission error measuring device is given, and the gear dynamic transmission errors for

Error Resilient Video Transmission

2001
Multi-frame MCP improves the rate-distortion efficiency of video codecs in the case of error-free transmission of the bit-stream. In this chapter, the efficiency of long-term memory MCP for a transmission scenario where the bit-stream may be received in error is investigated. The most important applications today including wireless packet networks show

Transmission Error Calculation Based on Manufacturing Errors and Load

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
A valid mathematic model is introduced to study the calculation of gear meshing transmission error, which is based on the manufacturing error and gear teeth deformation. Subsequently, take a pair of specific gear for example; The transmission error curves are obtained by the calculation model.

Transmission Error as Gear Noise Excitation

Volume 6: ASME Power Transmission and Gearing Conference; 3rd International Conference on Micro- and Nanosystems; 11th International Conference on Advanced Vehicle and Tire Technologies, 2009
Traditionally, transmission error (TE) has been used in order to asses the noise properties of gears. Measurements of gear noise for a complete truck gearbox have been used to correlate noise from a gear pair with the concept of calculated static transmission error as noise excitation. Two gear pairs with very similar macro geometry but different micro

Image transmission over error-prone channels

2011 19thTelecommunications Forum (TELFOR) Proceedings of Papers, 2011
This paper deals with the problem of image transmission over error-prone channels. A comparison between ISO/IEC image coding standards JPEG, JPEG 2000 and JPEG XR is presented. The main objective is to evaluate the performances of the recently standardized JPEG XR in transmissions over channel affected by errors.

Error localization for robust video transmission

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2002
The convergence of Internet, multimedia and mobile applications has led to an increased demand for efficient and reliable video data transmission over heterogeneous networks. Due to their coding efficiency, variable-length codes (VLC) are usually employed in the entropy coding stage of video compression standards.
