Errors in Data Transmission Systems
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1961The aims and methods of a program of work being conducted at the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in data-transmission research are discussed. The work, which has been concentrated primarily on telephone circuits of a type generally available, is aimed at a better understanding of these transmission media.

Minimizing sampling error in transmission electron microscopy
Journal of Microscopy, 1981SUMMARYThe last few years have seen an increase in the use of electron microscopy, both for research and as a diagnostic tool in pathology. With the increase in the number of specimens being used for diagnostic purposes, limitations due to sampling error have become apparent. The method described is designed to help overcome this problem.

Error-resilient transmission of 3D models
ACM Transactions on Graphics, 2005In this article, we propose an error-resilient transmission method for progressively compressed 3D models. The proposed method is scalable with respect to both channel bandwidth and channel packet-loss rate. We jointly design source and channel coders using a statistical measure that (i) calculates the number of both source and channel ...

Error concealment for 3D video transmission
2013 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2013In this paper, an error concealment method for transmission of 3D video in color+depth dual stream format is proposed. Exploiting the correlation between 2D color video and its corresponding depth information, recovery of the lost information of one kind (color/depth) can be achieved with the aid of received information from the other kind (depth/color)

Enhanced image transmission with error control
2011 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical and Computer Technology, 2011Contrast enhancement of an image can efficiently performed by Histogram Equalization. However, this method tends to introduce unnecessary visual deterioration such as saturation effect. One of the solutions to overcome this weakness is by preserving the mean brightness of the input image inside the output image.

Detecting CD error or transmission error of photomask patterns
SPIE Proceedings, 1998Whereas critical-dimension (CD) error below 35 nm and transmission error below 3.6 % are required for 256M DRAM, a present-day cutting-edge inspection system may fail to detect 150 nm CD error or 6 % transmission error. Improvement of defect inspection is, therefore, necessary to raise yields of semiconductor devices.

Temporal error concealment for video transmission
2004 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME) (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8763), 2005In this paper, we propose a temporal error concealment algorithm for video transmission in an error-prone environment. The error concealment algorithm employed an edge detection algorithm and progressive median motion vector concealment. First, the edges are detected and concealed portion by portion.

Data transmission and error correcting codes
ICASSP '82. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005Data transmission simulation, protected by error correcting code, through noisy channel, is one of A.A.E.C.C. principal research axis. We present two parts of an application of our works ; befor that, we present some recalls of error correcting codes 'theory. a) The hardware part. Automaton DOLVRON-1, completely elaborated in A.A.E.C.C.

Error Resilience for AVS Video Transmission
2010 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2010AVS is Chinese standard with independent intellectual property rights for the second-generation source coding. In this paper, we give an overview of AVS and stream structure. Then we analyze the influence of bit error in various group fields and classify those fields by effects on the quality of the video sequence.

A Note on PCM Transmission Error
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1970PCM system transmission error causes error in the subsequent reconstruction of a quantized analog signal. A concise proof is given for bounds on this error (either mean square or mean absolute value). This proof requires no assumptions regarding source distribution or number of quantization levels.
