Optical Transmission Modules for Intraoffice Transmission Networks

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1986
This paper considers the requirements of, and proposes technical solutions for, the optical transmission modules used in intraoffice links. A novel crosstalk noise measurement procedure is proposed along with a quantitative evaluation method for crosstalk prevention which is very important in the development of compact modules.

Hydrologic Networks: Information Transmission

Journal of the Water Resources Planning and Management Division, 1980
A hydrologic data collection metwork is considered to be a component of a communication channel conveying regional hydrologic information. A measure of the information transmission by the hydrologic network, in conjunction with spatial estimators, is derived using Shannon's information theory. The resulting measure confirms that the network information

Optimizing Network Data Transmission

Third International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations (ITNG'06), 2006
Theoretically, transmitting compressed data will optimize bandwidth use. Internet traffic is rarely compressed, thus this benefit is not fully realized. Compression algorithms should be increasingly effective as file size increases, up to a maximum determined by the data type and compression algorithm. However, these efficiencies are also not achieved.

Biquadratic pulse transmission networks

IEE-IERE Proceedings - India, 1974
A second order transfer function with two poles and two zeros exhibits a step response characterized by a sudden rise to the steady state value, followed by oscillations around this steady state. With proper choice of the coefficients, it is possible to obtain transfer functions suitable for pulse transmission purposes.

Transmission Network Expansion Planning

2021
This chapter analyzes transmission network expansion planning (TNEP), aimed at determining the optimal approach for adequate selection of transmission lines to be constructed to meet the growing energy demand, as well as facilitating power transfer from far-away locations to consumers.

Transmission on Networks

2018
The S-language which is the foundation of R was constructed using an “object”-based logic where each object is assigned a “class.” The class, in turn, controls printing, plotting, and summarizing each object.
