Long-Range Wireless Microwave Power Transmission: A Review of Recent Progress
IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2021The concept of long-range microwave power transmission (MPT) has been driven by the desire to remotely power satellites, drones, or some mobile facilities.

Long Range (LoRa) Transmission Through Ice: Preliminary Results
2021 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), 2021Long Range (LoRa) has rapidly become one of the most widespread transmission technologies for the development of distributed monitoring systems for a wide range of applications within the Internet of Things (IoT) framework. Indeed, thanks to its robustness and high performances in terms of low power consumption and long transmission range, it has been ...

Long-Range CW Sound Transmission
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1961An attempt was made to propagate pulsed CW sound coherently over thousand-mile distances in the mid-Atlantic using the focusing properties of the sound channel. The sound field emanating from a 440-cps lumped source at the sound channel depth off Barbados was studied at stations 159 and 975 mi. away in the NNE direction.

Restricted-Range Sky-Wave Transmission
Proceedings of the IRE, 1948This paper reports results of a study showing that it should be feasible to restrict considerably the range within which radio signals may be received after reflection from the E layer of the ionosphere. This is accomplished by proper choice of operating frequency and by using a relatively simple directive array beamed vertically upwards.

Characteristics of Multiple Range Hydromechanical Transmissions
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1972<div class="htmlview paragraph">The purpose of this paper is to show the advantages of multirange hydromechanical transmissions and to show some basic relationships of primary design parameters. Hydromechanical transmissions can be designed so that they maintain a high efficiency over a wide range of torque/speed variations.

Scintillations in long-range acoustic transmissions
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2001In the Acoustic Thermometry of Ocean Climate (ATOC) program’s Acoustic Engineering Test (AET), broadband 75-Hz center frequency transmissions were recorded on a 700-m-long vertical array, 3252 km distant. Previously reported results from the AET using 12.7-min. averaged data by Colosi et al. [J. Acoust. Soc. Am.
