Short-Range Radio Transmission Of Sensor Data

Offshore Technology Conference, 1979
ABSTRACT A radio-frequency (RF) data acquisition system collects and displays drilling data while eliminating the problems of hard wiring. In the past, data for safe, efficient drilling (i.e., pump rate, pressure, flow rate, rotary speed, torque, hook load, block position and mud pit volume) was measured by sensors ...

A broad-range high-transmission electron spectrometer

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1966
Abstract A high-transmission, broad-range electron spectrometer has been developed to study internal conversion electrons from the deexcitation of levels populated by Coulomb excitation. A solenoidal magnetic field configuration is used to transport the electrons away from the target and focus them onto a cooled semiconductor detector.

Range of l.f. transmissions using digital modulation

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1967
The paper analyses the ranges obtained using digital transmissions and frequencies in the range 30–300kc/s. Parameters are assumed which could be met by a mobile installation using solid-state amplifiers and a wire antenna supported by a captive helicopter. The calculations are for both binary and 32-ary f.s.k.

Generation uncertainty in long range transmission planning

IEEE Power Engineering Society Summer Meeting,, 2003
Summary form only given. Utilities are facing higher levels of uncertainty in their planning process than ever before. The old days of integrated resource planning, in which generation and transmission plans were coordinated, are largely gone. Long range transmission planning must now include consideration of a wide range of possible generation ...

Host range and environmental transmission of CWD

2021
The geographic range of chronic wasting disease, a fatal prion disease of cervids, is expanding throughout North America and northern Europe. The ecological effects of this highly infectious disease are unclear, as the host range and routes of transmission of CWD are not fully characterized.

Optimal Transmission Range in Sleeping Wireless Networks

2017
Assigning the transmission range for wireless networks is a critical aspect that has been well studied. But, there has been no work on assigning optimal transmission ranges in energy-constrained wireless networks, where nodes periodically sleep in order to prolong the life-time.

Averaged sound transmission in range-dependent channels

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1974
We derive an integral formula as an estimate of the averaged, steady-state transmission ratio for two points in a channel whose environmental parameters vary slowly with range. We base the derivation on the theory of ray acoustics with lossy specular reflection from the boundaries.
