Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

节曲线封闭的非圆齿轮传动比函数设计

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2011
When given only part of transmission ratio function of non-circular gear in period, two methods to design entire transmission ratio in period and ensure non-circular gear can smooth transmission are proposed. The period of transmission ratio function is ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

Reduced Gene Transmission and Genotypic Ratio

open access: yesCaryologia, 1968
SUMMARYIt is a common phenomenon that many of the radiation-induced mutations in higher plants show a deficiency of mutants in a segregating population, although the mutant genes are of a simple recessive nature. The number of heterozygotes is also less than the expected ratio of 1 normal: 2 heterozygotes. Moreover, mutant lines segregating a similarly

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Principle and Error Analysis of Non-circular Steel Belt Transmission

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2022
Aiming at the problem that the transmission ratio error of a steel belt transmission device in a flexible base is large, the transmission principle and transmission law of the steel belt transmission device are analyzed. Firstly, the non-circular profile

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.
