Estimating Transmissivity in One‐Dimensional Heterogeneous Aquifers With Groundwater Head Data: From Time or Frequency Perspectives

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Time series of groundwater head in a semi‐infinite, one‐dimensional confined aquifer due to variable boundary forcing can be decomposed into two signals: head rise from a sudden boundary increase, and head fluctuation from boundary sinusoidal changes ...

Estimation of Hydrogeological Parameters by Using Pumping, Laboratory Data, Surface Resistivity and Thiessen Technique in Lower Bari Doab (Indus Basin), Pakistan

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Determination of hydrological properties of the aquifer is of fundamental importance in hydrogeological and geotechnical studies. An attempt has been made to refine the hydraulic conductivity values computed from the pumping test by utilizing the ...

Low-energy electron beam focusing in self-organized porous alumina vacuum windows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Micromachined, micron-thick porous alumina membranes with closed pore endings show high electron transparency above an energy of 5 keV. This is due to the channeling of electrons along the negatively charged insulating pores after surmounting the thin ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
