An algorithm for generalized transmit diversity
GLOBECOM'01. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference (Cat. No.01CH37270), 2002In this paper an algorithm for generalized transmit diversity is proposed. Depending on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio maximization criterion full diversity (all available transmit antennas) or partial diversity (only subset of all available transmit antennas) is used and phase adjustment is applied between selected antennas.

Transmit Diversity Based Interference Cancellation
VTC Spring 2008 - IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, 2008In this paper, we describe a transmit diversity technique for canceling partially-known interference. For a single interferer in a flat fading channel, the desired user transmitter transmits conjugated and time-reversed interferer symbols in two successive symbol periods (or subcarriers) along with one desired user symbol.

Integration of transmit power control, transmit diversity and receive beamforming
ICC 2001. IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37240), 2002In this paper an algorithm for joint power control, transmit diversity and receive beamforming is proposed where transmit diversity and receive beamforming weight vectors and downlink power allocations are calculated jointly such that signal to interference ratio at each mobile is above threshold.

Novel multi-satellite transmit diversity schemes
SPIE Proceedings, 2007Space-time coding based on transmit diversity have recently proposed as a design art of signals for transmit diversity in satellite-data communications. The paper mainly discusses the performance of some STCs applied to the forward link of a WCDMA multi-satellite UMTS environment. MRC, STBC, SDT and STTC have been firstly considered. Furthermore, outer

Transmit diversity in 3G CDMA systems
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2002Transmit diversity (TD) is one of the key contributing technologies to defining the ITU endorsed 3G systems W-CDMA and cdma2000. Spatial diversity is introduced into the signal by transmitting through multiple antennas. The antennas are spaced far enough apart that the signals emanating from them can be assumed to undergo independent fading.

Transmit Diversity for Terrestrial Broadcast Systems
2010 IEEE Sarnoff Symposium, 2010For terrestrial television two television standards exist: The DVB-T standard is currently widely deployed and used in more than 35 countries worldwide [1]. The second one is the emerging standard DVB-T2. It is a revised standard which offers a higher spectral efficiency and requires multiple transmit antennas. DVB-T2 promises performance gains because

Concatenated coding for transmit diversity systems
Gateway to 21st Century Communications Village. VTC 1999-Fall. IEEE VTS 50th Vehicular Technology Conference (Cat. No.99CH36324), 2003The concatenation of transmit diversity space-time coding with channel coding is considered. The performance of three space-time coding schemes, namely the orthogonal transmit diversity (OTD), the delay diversity and the Alamouti code diversity (ACD), in concatenation with channel codes of various rates is evaluated through analysis and extensive ...

On transmit diversity for TD-SCDMA
The 57th IEEE Semiannual Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003. VTC 2003-Spring., 2004In TD-SCDMA (UMTS TDD 1.28 Mcps mode) advanced techniques such as closed loop transmit diversity (CLTD) are foreseen. Deployment of CLTD influences the choice of receiver architecture and depends on propagation conditions, mobile speed, feedback delay, antenna weight computation and quantization.

Transmit diversity options for GSM/EDGE
2004 IEEE 59th Vehicular Technology Conference. VTC 2004-Spring (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37514), 2005High system capacity is of utmost importance for future GSM/EDGE networks, with increasing attention given to improved downlink performance. One performance enhancing feature for the downlink is transmit diversity, where the base station transmits from multiple antennas. This paper studies the transmit diversity schemes delay diversity, antenna hopping

Geolocation using transmit and receive diversity
IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005Geolocation using received signal strength (RSS) has large errors due to multipath fading, since fading results in high variations in RSS. We show how and when spatial diversity combined with channel knowledge at the receiver can be used to combat fading effects to increase accuracy in location estimation.
