Optimisation of the clarification of kiwifruit juice with tannic acid-modified chitosan

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2021
Chitosan (CS) is an effective clarifying agent for fruit juice. However, its low antioxidant ability is a limitation in preserving the antioxidant capacity of the juice during clarification.

Boosting Conversion Efficiency in Zn3P2/InP Solar Cells Via Nanoscale Junction Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the efficacy of selective area epitaxy (SAE) in enhancing the conversion efficiency of a Zn3P2${\rm Zn}_3{\rm P}_2$/InP heterojunction solar cell. The impact of the SAE pattern dimensions on the performance parameters is investigated. Small size opening limits Jsc because of current crowding whereas large size opening limits Voc

Roll‐to‐Roll Processable EC/TC Hybrid Smart Windows Driven by a Bidirectional Dual‐Chromic Polymer Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable EC/TC hybrid smart window using a DCPE that enables tunable solar modulation (ΔTsol:15–43%), fast electrochromic switching (<90 s), and strong thermal blocking (10–14°C reduction). HPMC improves thermal stability, while an optimized ISL enhances EC performance.

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

High Light Utilization and Color Rendering in Vacuum‐Deposited Semitransparent Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low bandgap (≈1.55 eV) semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST‐PSCs) having thin (thickness < ≈100 nm) perovskite layers and transparent conductive oxide‐based rear electrodes are fabricated using vacuum‐deposition methods. Two different ST‐PSCs demonstrated a high light utilization efficiency value of 4.2 (PCE: 9.26% and AVT: 45.3 ...

Analysis of the Effect of Copper Doping on the Optoelectronic Properties of Indium Oxide Thin Films and the Thermoelectric Properties of an In2O3/Pt Thermocouple

open access: yesCrystals
The detection and real-time monitoring of temperature parameters are important, and indium oxide-based thin film thermocouples can be integrated on the surface of heaters because they operate normally under harsh conditions and provide accurate online ...
