Microwave Foreign Object Detection in a Lossy Medium Using a Planar Array Antenna [PDF]
The non-contact detection of foreign objects embedded in lossy dielectric media such as soil, vegetation, or ice remains a critical challenge in applications including environmental monitoring and agricultural safety.

Degrees of Freedom of a K-User Interference Channel in the Presence of an Instantaneous Relay
In this paper, we study the degrees of freedom (DoF) of a frequency-selective K-user interference channel in the presence of an instantaneous relay (IR) with multiple receiving and transmitting antennas.

Asymptotics of transmit antenna selection: Impact of multiple receive antennas [PDF]
Consider a fading Gaussian MIMO channel with $N_\mathrm{t}$ transmit and $N_\mathrm{r}$ receive antennas. The transmitter selects $L_\mathrm{t}$ antennas corresponding to the strongest channels. For this setup, we study the distribution of the input-output mutual information when $N_\mathrm{t}$ grows large.

Oversampling transmit and receive antenna arrays [PDF]
A dense antenna array architecture is developed to ease the circuit requirements of the radio frequency (RF) front-end in beamforming applications. In the architecture, antennas are spaced more closely than would otherwise be required to exploit the available degrees of freedom.

Communication Modes With Large Intelligent Surfaces in the Near Field
This paper proposes a practical method for the definition of communication modes when antennas operate in the near-field region, by realizing ad-hoc beams exploiting the focusing capability of large antennas. The beamspace modeling proposed to define the
