An adaptive technique for transmit antenna diversity with feedback
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2002Transmit antenna diversity (TAD) has been employed for third-generation wireless systems. We propose an adaptive technique for TAD with feedback. It is shown that the proposed adaptive technique can efficiently increase the number of transmit antennas without significantly increasing the feedback bit rate under ideal conditions.

Linear Precoding with User and Transmit Antenna Selection
Wireless Personal Communications, 2019The major challenge in the current scenario of wireless system is increasing number of users and hence increased co-channel interference within the limited spectrum available for communication. The compromise in terms of user quality and reliability of communication system is evitable from increased number of call drops and busy channels during mobile ...

Secure opportunistic scheduling with transmit antenna selection
2013 IEEE 24th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2013We investigate the physical layer security for opportunistic scheduling scheme using transmit antenna selection (TAS) with maximal ratio combining (MRC) at receiver and eavesdropper under a quasi-static Rayleigh fading channel. We assume a scenario composed of a single transmitter, multiple users and a single eavesdropper each equipped with multiple ...

Transmit beamforming for a large reconfigurable antenna array
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005Many space-time transmission schemes have been proposed recently to exploit the high channel capacity from the MIMO communication systems. However, algorithms for a large antenna array (LAA) remain an open research problem. The standard channel estimation and space-time modulation schemes are not practical for LAAs due to high implementation complexity.

A microstrip patch antenna as a standard transmitting and receiving antenna
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1990The possibility of using a microstrip patch antenna as a standard transmitting or receiving antenna is discussed. The intrinsic properties of the substrate used for the antenna are determined by careful impedance measurements. Experimental results indicate that the transmitting characteristics of a microstrip antenna can be theoretically determined ...

Antenna transmit diversity for wireless OFDM systems
Vehicular Technology Conference. IEEE 55th Vehicular Technology Conference. VTC Spring 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37367), 2003We investigate several transmit-diversity techniques for wireless OFDM systems employing multiple antennas. We concentrate our investigation on methods that can be applied with few modifications to existing standards. Existing methods such as delay diversity, clustering and antenna interleaving are investigated and compared.

Effect of transmit antenna correlation on multiuser diversity
Proceedings. International Symposium on Information Theory, 2005. ISIT 2005., 2005In this paper, we investigate throughput performance of downlink multi-antenna transmission schemes exploiting multiuser diversity. The asymptotic analysis is performed based on the extreme value theory. From this analysis, it is demonstrated that the multiuser spatial multiplexing known as the asymptotically optimal transmission scheme is no longer ...

Transmit antenna selection in massive MIMO systems
2017 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2017We consider an antenna selection scheme in single-user massive MIMO systems. We formulate a rate maximization problem with a sparsity promoting regularization function. The proposed algorithm allocates sparse power allocation among transmit antennas. It achieves a very high sum rate close to the optimal full search algorithm.
