Vaginal wall erosion after transobturator tape procedure
International Urogynecology Journal, 2005Transobturator Prolene tape insertion represents a new method of operative treatment for stress urinary incontinence. The first results show that it is a simple and effective procedure accompanied by a minimum number of complications. Since February 2004, 30 Monarc procedures were done at our department and no intraoperative complications were observed.

Progres en urologie : journal de l'Association francaise d'urologie et de la Societe francaise d'urologie, 2007The transobturator approach is gradually replacing the retropubic approach for the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence and suburethral tape. The major argument in favour of this approach is the decreased risk of bladder injury during insertion of the needles, which nevertheless remains a minor complication.
