ACCELERATED AIRFOIL OPTIMIZATION VIA VIBRATIONAL GENETIC ALGORITHM
Transonic airfoil optimization is made for drag minimisation through shock wave reduction. In this study, a new approach to genetic algorithms, called Vibrational Genetic Algorithm (VGA), is used for transonic airfoil optimization.

Extension of transonic flow computational concepts in the analysis of cavitated bearings [PDF]
An analogy between the mathematical modeling of transonic potential flow and the flow in a cavitating bearing is described. Based on the similarities, characteristics of the cavitated region and jump conditions across the film reformation and rupture ...

PROBES IN TRANSONIC FLOW [PDF]
A constraint exists for intrusive probes in transonic flow which leads to a complete insensitivity to static pressure at Mach number Ma=1. Nearby Mach number unity different types of probes are affected more or less by the reduced sensitivity to static pressure or Mach number.

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

The application of Riegels' rule and time-like damping to transonic flow calculations [PDF]
Finite difference relaxation solutions of the nonlinear small perturbation equations have proven reliable and successful in determining the transonic flowfields about thin airfoils.

n‐Type Polymer Radio Frequency Rectifiers Operating at 18.5 GHz
Combining an n‐doped polymer semiconductor with wafer‐scale asymmetric planar electrodes featuring work function‐engineered contacts yields radio‐frequency diodes and rectifying circuits operating at up to 18.5 GHz. The devices combine scalable manufacturing with an operating frequency previously unattainable by large‐area organic electronics ...

Effect of underwing aft-mounted nacelles on the longitudinal aerodynamic characteristics of a high-wing transport airplane [PDF]
As part of a propulsion/airframe integration program, tests were conducted in the Langley 16-Foot Transonic Tunnel to determine the longitudinal aerodynamic effects of installing flow through engine nacelles in the aft underwing position of a high wing ...

Numerical Computation of Unsteady Compressible Flow past a Plunging Aerofoil
Unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) computations are presented for subsonic and transonic flow past a plunging NACA 64A010 aerofoil. The Implicit RANS solver used for obtaining the time-accurate solution is based on finite volume nodal point ...
