Studies in transonic flow

open access: yes, 1983
This thesis is divided into, two distinct parts. Part I describes the design and development of an intermittent cryogenic wind-tunnel, in which the cold conditions are generated by the expansion of high pressure gas. The device uses a light piston moving in a tube and conditions during the running time are maintained constant by 'tuning' the piston ...

Deployable 3D‐Printed Vascular Stent with Surface‐Catalysed Endogenous Nitric Oxide Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A deployable 3D‐printed vascular stent was fabricated with surface‐catalyzed endogenous nitric oxide generation, representing a promising new direction for stent development. The stent can be remotely controlled by magnetic force in its compressed state and fully deployed at the target site using an untethered heat source, potentially eliminating the ...

Poking Pluripotency: Nanoinjection Into Human iPSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoinjection into hiPSCs: silicon nanotubes effectively transfect human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) with mRNA, enabled by a delayed extracellular matrix application and enhanced surface functionalization. Nanoinjection is demonstrated with several reporter mRNA, including co‐transfection of mCherry and GFP.
