Simulation of transitional flows through a turbine blade cascade with heat transfer for various flow conditions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The contribution deals with the simulation of the transitional flows with heat transfer by means the EARSM turbulence model of Hellsten [1] completed by the algebraic transition model of Straka and Příhoda [2] and by the three-equation model of Walters ...

Introduction: Towards a linguistic anthropology of AI Introduction : vers une anthropologie linguistique de l'IA

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, EarlyView.
This essay introduces the themed cluster of articles, ‘Towards a linguistic anthropology of AI’. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI), especially in large language models capable of producing coherent discourse mimicking conversational interaction, is exerting unprecedented pressure on prevailing concepts of language, personhood, and the human ...

Calculation of two- and three-dimensional transonic cascade flow field using the Navier-Stokes equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A Navier-Stokes analysis employing the time-dependent Linearized Block Implicit scheme (LBI) was applied to two-dimensional and three-dimensional transonic turbulent cascade flows.

Low Percent Copper Doping Limits Bacterial Adhesion on Fluorapatite‐Based Bone Scaffolds

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Natural and engineered bone grafts are widely used in orthopedic and dental reconstruction; however, infection remains a persistent clinical challenge. Fluorapatite (FAp) is a chemically stable and osteoconductive bone substitute, but it lacks inherent antimicrobial properties. Copper (Cu), known for its potent antibacterial activity, could be

Numerical Investigation of the Wake Vortex-Related Flow Mechanisms in Transonic Turbines

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2020
As the core equipment of the power generation system, a gas turbine is an indispensable energy-converting device in the national industry. The flow inside a high-pressure turbine (HPT) is highly unsteady, which has a great influence on the aerothermal ...

Numerical Investigation of Transonic Axial Compressor Rotor With Leading‐Edge Tubercles

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
Amplitude, wavelength, and span‐wise location of the leading‐edge tubercles on a transonic NASA Rotor 37 compressor are numerically optimized. An increase in efficiency by 0.52% compared to the corresponding baseline rotor is observed. The location of the shockwave moves downstream of the rotor with 1.91% higher pressure.

Summertime methane and carbon dioxide emission rates and associated variables from a national‐scale survey of 146 reservoirs in the United States

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography Letters, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Reservoirs are globally important sources of greenhouse gases, but the magnitude of their emissions is highly uncertain. Here, we present data for 146 reservoirs from two surveys of reservoir methane and carbon dioxide emissions, one at the regional scale in the midwestern United States and one at the national scale in the United States, plus ...
